New Map Resources Are Here
October 7, 2006
Now available as a CHEARS
resource are several new
maps, including a map of the
Anacostia Watershed, as well as the particular 2-mile segment of the NW Branch Trail that has been adoped by the Earth Squad. The adopted segment is mapped in two ways – on a
street map that includes both major and minor streets, and on a
hybrid satellite map with only major streets shown overlaid on a satellite image. Both of these maps can also be obtained through the CHEARS
interactive Googlemap of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed by zooming into the yellow marker located at the site of Adelphi Mill, MD. Click "Confluences" on the lefthand navigation list and enter an address beneath the map to jump anywhere within our watershed. Googlemap's new high resolution lets you almost look in the window where you live.
